Earthquake Diary 98

 In spite of all the damage, there are still many picturesque places like this temple ground.

 Here is anothere crack in the ground. My foot gives a good reference for its size. I could not see the bottom.

 This the river bank right beside my condo. I was really surprised to find that the concrete banking had slid toward the water. Before the quakes the siding and the concrete walkway had touched. Now there is a large space between them.

 At one place the siding had moved a very long way. It almost looked like it wanted to go for a swim in the river.

 As I have sais, spring is here and everyday more flowers appear.

This is on the main road near my home. A crew with a crane is repairing the roof of a restaurant.
