This is our living/dining area, the LD in 3LDK or three rooms plus a single large area that functions as a combined living room, dining room, and kitchen.
This is the six mat tatami room that will contain my 'study'. It will have my desktop computer, which you can see is now on a folding table. As well as an area where I can do my art. Yesterday we went to Nitori (notice the spelling correction) and bought a desk and a bookshelf that will be delivered on April 22. After that I can get organized. The doors cover a huge, by Japanese standards, storage area. I will use the section on the right.
This is the kitchen and the door to the entrance hall.
This is our new dining table. Actually it is a kotatsu, a table with an electric heater underneath and a removable top that allows you to put a blanket under it to contain the heat. Usually kotatsu are very low and you sit on a cushion on the floor when you use it. However, this one is tall enough to sit on chairs.
The one piece of big furniture that we brought with us is our made-in-Bali sofa. The TV is out of sight on the left. Yesterday we bought big cushions at Nitori so it will be even more comfortable.
This is the view out the window in the previous picture. It is not very picturesque but we can see the mountains in the distance. The paved are is the delivery zone for the supermarket. There are a lot of trucks arriving and departing during the day but they are not very loud and are no bother at all.
