Heading south

I found this interesting contraption beside a small farm. It apparently is  a cart for carrying produce back to the farmer's home. It is obviously handmade from four bicycle tires and some metal tubes.
We live in a housing area, even though there are some empty lots with gardens in them. To the south, however, there is a large flat open area of rice paddies. The Naka River is about a kilometer off to the right.
I left the rice paddies and walked into a housing area on its perimeter. I soon saw a shrine building beside one of the narrow roads.
