Oushuu33Kannon Temples 11-12-13 Part 13
This road leads up into the hills and to a Shinto shrine. On the right beside the trees there is a gray signpost that says there is a temple at the end of the dirt road.
A little further on we came to this quaint old house. I could not tell if anyone lived in it, but in any case it was in fairly bad shape, although the ridge line was still straight.
At first we mistook the building in the middle with the reddish roof for Temple #12. However, before we even turned of the road, we realized that we were still a few kilometers away from our next goal.
I know it looks like a cloud bank over the end of the road, but actually it is snow capped mountains. Luckily for this day's trip, we did not have to go anywhere near them. However, the certainly were beautiful to look at.
The road left the flat valley floor and reentered the hills. We again found temple roofs looking down on us from the surrounding heights.
