Marche plus alpha

In Japanese instead of the English etc., people often say plus alpha. It just means 'and more'. This picture shows two shops: one selling wine and the other clothing.
These people are waiting for the food to cook under the white tent. You can see the smoke rising from the grill.
I liked the design on this manhole cover. Also notice the hardy little plant trying to make a living in a very small crack in the concrete.
This is at the Yaotome end of the bridge. A class of students at the driving school are having their pictures taken on the front steps. Before the earthquake there was another building between me and this one but it was so badly damaged that they tore it down.
This structure is new. It is on one of the east west roads that go to Sendai Station and covers an entrance to the new subway construction. It is going to take at least ten years before the new line will be up and running but for now all it is doing is obstructing traffice.
The writing over the arch gives the name of the mall, Sun Mall Ichibancho. Notice the Macdonalds on the right. The area on the left is part of the subway construction site.
