We almost immediately had to start climbing stairs. Often there stairs split and one branch led to an area with stelae and statues.
On one of the small flat areas between flights of stairs, this little hut-like building sat off to the side. It was obviously an altar of some kind because the box in the doorway is for monetary offerings.
I went over and looked inside. These two strange little fellows stared back at me.
The path went around a large rock, which had a stele sitting on top and had representations of stelae carved into the face.
Except for the physical stress of climbing the stairs, it was a beautiful, peaceful walk.
Here is another large rock with stelae on top and representations of stetae carved into the face.
