Here is the rich guy's house again, but with a little more of the outside taken off. At first I thought they were doing it this way to recycle some of the materials, but the owner said that they were not. I think the reason must be that they were able to find some workmen to do it manually but the large power equipment was not available at the time. Because the city was paying for this, it had to be finished by the end of the month, the time when the allotted budget was no longer available. However, this is really only a guess.
I found these very colorful leaves on a small tree growing next to the road.
This is a barber shop and a beauty shop in the same building with connecting interior doors. I have never stopped there but it looks like it might be the same people in both shops. The workers had removed the outside glass and were in the process of striping the inside when I walked by.
This is one of the cherry trees that we always visit in the spring. It looks almost as pretty as it does in May.
A few weeks ago I showed a picture of the house that used to be here being torn down. They now have done enough work on the new building that there are walls and a roof.
Before the earthquakes there was a tall wall here. They seem to be replacing it with a chain fence of some kind. It will be nice because it will mean that we can see the garden.
