The Society trip continued

 This a better look at the bridge I posted yesterday. The water level once the dam is completed and full will reach the level of the blue mark on the right hand support.

Just a little bit in front of the bridge, nestled in a clump of trees, there is a waterfall. There was a Shinto shrine very close to the waterfall. It was dedicated to the god of this river. However, both the waterfall and the site where the shrine was located will be under many meters of water. So they moved the shrine onto the hill on the left side of the bridge.

 

 This is the shrine at its new location.  If you look back at the picture of the bridge in yesterday's post, you can see it above the left end of the bridge. Our guides promised us that on the way home we would visit this shrine.
