Walks to Yaotome and Izumi Chuo

The work is going strong on the riverbank. Yesterday I showed the neat piles of concrete blocks. They were taken from the surface of this sloped section of the other side of the river. I do not know where they are taking it, but the dirt is being trucked to another location.
Here you can see the work area on the right bank and part of my condo complex on the left.
This is the driving school. A few weeks ago I showed a picture of this building (the one in the center) with the right hand window removed and work being done on it. As you can see, they did not replace the glass but covered the open space with paneling. The necessary glass is probably not available because either the factory was destroyed or the transportation system is not yet capable of handling the large sheets.
This is the platform in the subway station at Yaotome. Actually, from Izumi Chuo to the second station, Kuromatsu (Black Pine), the line is above ground, explaining all the light in the background. The reason I went here was to go to teach at Miyagi Gakuin U.

The next day, Saturday, I walked to Izumi Chuo.
I have showed this construction site in past pictures. The sign in the foreground says that it is going to be an "Art Gallery". It will be nice if it actually is an art gallery rather than something else just misusing the English words. For example, I can imaging this being a hair dressers or a boutique.
This is the pedestrian bridge which allows access to the open area in front of Izumi Chuo station. It was badly damaged in the quakes but has now been at least temporarily repaired. The black areas where they filled in the holes and put asphalt, or tarmac or whatever it is that they use on roads here, over the repairs.
This is a wall at Selva. The Starbucks that I frequent is in this building and this floor and the one below it are in full use again, in spite of structural problems like this. The city inspectors have looked at these and declared that, while it looks bad, damage of this sort is not dangerous.
Here is the open area in front of the station, which is behind me, and Selva, which is in front of me. Again the damage is not structural, but it could be dangerous to walk on, potentially causing people to trip and get hurt.
