Gerry Muirhead, showing the various parts of the bagpipe.
Here Gerry is playing by pumping air with his left arm while fingering with both hands.
This is the hall, actually the school's cafeteria, where the concert took place. Gerry is at the far end and some of the 80 people who showed up are in between.
One side of the room was glass from ceiling to floor, doors and fixed windows. In Japan there usually put a row of colored circles across such windows to insure that you know they are there. This school uses, not just colored circles, but embossed circles with the school name and crest.
A final shot of Gerry standing in his costume. He was answering questions from the audience.
For his last set, he changed into his more formal bearskin hat. Since he had played for an hour and the coffee and cookies had run out, he thanked the audience and received a huge round of applause before leaving. I helped clean up for a while and then got a ride home with a friend. My wife stayed and went out for coffee and chat with her friends.
