After looking at a map, I found a new route from home to Sendai Station. I consists entirely of back roads. This tunnel takes the road under a main road. I like walking on the back roads because there are fewer cars, less noise, and much more to see.
Another building being replaced. This looks like a one family dwelling.
Most houses have only a very small yard and those often look like this, more like a junk yard than a front yard.
The hill around this tree has been mostly removed and the remaining steep slopes were obviously damaged in the quakes, so they are covered to hold the soil in place until they can be repaired. Probably they will be covered with some sort of concrete surfacing.
This believe it or not is a restaurant that sells ramen noodles.
The road got busier and a little wider. Then it turned to the right and I was suddenly walking beside a very pleasant little park.
