My presentation

I gave a presentation for about 20 teachers who are members of the Sendai Chapter of JALT (Japan Association for Language Teaching). I talked about how to teach less to have the students learn more. The speech was a summation of my research and experience.

The meeting was sponsored by Cengage, a publisher that specializes in books on teaching English. This is their representative David White.
After the meeting most of us went to an izakaya, a Japanese style bar, where we talked, ate, and drank. Cengage kindly sponsored this aspect of the meeting, too. The picture shows the remains on one of our tables about half way through. These tables are only about a foot (30 centimeters) high. There is a whole in the floor under the table for you legs. They are actually quite comfortable if you do not mind not have a back to lean on. If possible, I grab a seat that is next to a wall so that I can lean back when my back gets tired.
I went home by one of the last subway trains and saw this young lady. The pink thing is a large heart-shaped balloon that is on a string. As with all the other people in the picture she is looking at her keitai, her cell phone.
