After crossing the narrow bridge, I passed through a park. This sort of play apparatus for kids is very common and most parks have one. Some are mostly plastic like this one, but in other places they are primarily wood.
In the summer time the orange area in the middle has water running down it into a wading pool. However, at this time of year it is empty and rather sad looking.
Parktown, where I was, has many wide pedestrian walkways, usually lined with trees.
One thing about Sendai is a love for stone. There are stone sculptures all over. These are along the side of one of the broad pedestrian ways.l
This is a typical street in Parktown, rows of house with relatively small yards. One nice thing about Parktown is that all the houses are different so it does not have some much of that ugly housing development feel to it.
Behind the Green Mart supermarket there is a place where the drainage system empties into a small pond. Instead of keeping it all underground, the designers brought the water out into a small stream and, using blocks of stone, created a sculpture that slides down the hillside.
At the top of the hillside there is a fence to keep people from falling down the steep slope. The gentle curve fits well with the trees and bushes.
This path goes down to the surface of the pond and is used mostly by people who want to fish. Green Mart can be just seen through the trees.
