Stones at Hachimangu

There were many large stones that were carefully cared for on the grounds. This one was undistinguished but it had obviously been cleaned and the area around it swept.
This stones were about two meters long and had slots cut in them. It was not clear to me whether they had been part of a structure of some kind and later moved here or if they had been here since they were cut. The slots could be used for flag poles or for beams in a building.
This is a large stone stele in a corner of the grounds. You can see the housing area in the distance.
