This road is lined with four rows of trees. During December each year they place thousands of small lights in the trees. It is very pretty and this has become a drawing card for the winter season. Also the path in the middle contains a number of very good sculptures and benches to sit on while admiring them.
I am not sure what this stone structure was originally but it is right in front of one of the entrances to the subway and a volunteer group has turned it into a little garden. There is a florist nearby that sells both cut and potted plants, so maybe the group is related to that store.
Here is a view from another angle. It is actually quite nice. Especially when exiting the subway. There is a long boring escalator ride up from below and then the first thing you see when reaching ground level is a garden - a nice feeling.
A little further on, passed the entrance to the subway, there is a large stone sculpture. There was one around when I took the picture but the height of the left side is about the same as a person.
