This is one of the windows of city hall. There are ads for the three professional sports teams in Sendai. We have Vegalta, the soccer team, the Eagles, the baseball team (dead last last year), and the Sendai 89ers, a basketball team. I go to Vegalta games whenever I can but I have never seen the other two teams.
The man wearing the yellow vest is a city employee. The writing on the back says, "Illegally parked cars 0". This is a bus stop and many drivers think that bus stops are there to allow them to stop and discharge passengers, and then wait for them.
This is the entire length of the bus stop. You could just see the corner of this roof in the last picture. They are building roofs over more and more of the stops. Many of the newer constructions include two or three sided wind breaks as well as roofs. . By the way, there are two bus companies, prefectural and city, and they share many stops, plus there are some loop lines but I do not know who runs them..
This little restaurant specializes in real buttermilk pancakes. It is in a rather inconvenient place but I have still stopped there two or three times. Masayo and I went there one morning and ate outside at a table behind the little lattice fence. After we ate, we walked the six kilometers to get home, working off at least some of the calories.
