This is the trash building that I showed in the final picture in my last post. The low building behind it is the Admin Building and the tall building is called East Court. I live in Central Court and the final building is West Court. You have to admire the originality of the people who thought up the names.
This is the walkway along the top of the levee. You can see the soccer stadium in the distance. The weather was bad so the mountains seem to be on vacation. The long straight line just to the left of the middle of the picture is where two sections of the pavement separated. This and the long crack were caused by the earthquake and are still getting worse because the ground underneath was weakened.
This is the house where the wall collapsed. Previous pictures have shown the gradual progress that he has been making at repairing the damage. The new concrete wall has a huge underground section and should stand up to anything. He said that the whole thing is costing him about US$100,000. He no longer has work crews coming in but is now doing all the work himself. The black posts that are standing at strange angles are the posts for a new metal fence.
This is the vending machine outside the faculty lunch room at Miyagi Gakuin U. You put in your money, press the appropriate button, and out comes a paper ticket with the name of what you purchased printed on it. You then go into the lunch room and give the ticket to the people working there. When the preparation is finished, they bring the food to your table.
