This is in the space between the two basement supermarkets. Some local farmers are selling vegetables in front of the door into Selva.
Turning around I can see the entrance into Ito Yokado. Have I mentioned that Ito Yokado and 7/11 are part of the same organization? Many of the things that are sold in the 7/11 convenience stores can be found on the shelves in the Ito Yokado supermarket.
Walking down suisen dori, Daffodil Road, I discovered that one of the more architecturally interesting building that had been badly damaged was simply not there any more.
Every construction site must have a sign giving the details of the construction, contacts for the various people and organizations involved, sizes and dimensions of the building and property, and the use of the building. The sign in front of this new building says, in English, ART GALLERY. Now, considering the common Japanese usage of English, this could mean anything from a real art gallery to a store selling high fashion clothing. I am really looking forward to solving this mystery.
At the end of suisen dori, a pedestrians only walkway, where it meets the road for vehicles, a damaged building is being taken down.
Surprisingly they are doing the work with a simple relatively small power shovel.
