Tomone shopping plus odds and ends

This was one of our Christmas decorations. The statues were made by my daughter when she was in grade school.
My wife, daughter, and granddaughter decided to walk to Izumi Chuo and do some shopping. As we left our building, we found some people working. It was one of the members of the committee that is studying the problem of what repairs to make. He is the knees you can see on the left. For about one tenth of the cost as proposed by a construction company, he made some simple repairs that allow us to more safely use the entrance hall. Here he is leveling off the two sections by filling the space with cut up roof tiles and then covering the with some more red carpeting.
Here the space has been filled with tiles and the carpet is being laid.
At this point the height difference was too great to use tiles, so he had a sheet of metal bent and bolted it to the floors, then covered it with red carpeting.

As we walked along the levee, the red flowers and white snow caught my attention.
At the Ito Yokado department store, Tomone wanted to ride in the special cart for children. He got in and fastened the safety belt herself and then pretended to steer as we walked around the store.
Sometimes she would undo the belt and stand up so that she could ask a question. Here she is suggestion that we go to a shorter checkout line. However, in my experience, if you move to a new, shorter line, something will happen and that line will take even longer.
