A the head of the stream that I had been following there is a park. It is quite nice and includes a small campground. There were quite a few people there and the above group were cooking a meal.
Looking down into the campground from the top of a dam that creates a pond and keeps the camp
ground from becoming a swamp. The roofed buildings, from left to right, are a dining hall, toilets and a shower room. The actual camp sites are to the left and right of the picture. There are less than 20 sites altogether.
This is the pond created by the dam.
Leaving the campground, I started out on an indirect route home.
I am not entirely sure what this building contains, but it looks like it might be a retirement home of some kind.
This building is on the kanjosen, a road that goes around Sendai on the west side. This was a video rental and viewing shop the last time I came by here. As far as I could tell from the signs that used to be outside, it specialized in softcore porn and had private viewing rooms. The building on the right has contained a number of businesses over the last few years - fishing equipment and used clothing being two that I remember.
