As I started down off the hilltop and headed into the valley of a tributary to the river that runs past my condo, I walked by a large golf driving range.
The net that keeps the balls away from the road can be seen for miles in some directions.
Walking along the river, actually stream would be a more accurate word, I found a rice paddy almost ready for harvest. The dashed white line is a long piece of reflective tape that is there to scare away the birds.
This torii is in the middle of an open field but the Shinto shrine that it announces seems to no longer exist. In the past this would have been on the road, for walking and horses only, that went from Sendai north.
The river was quite pretty as it passed over a small dam.
An even smaller dam also made a pleasant sight.
