This is that strange building from yesterday. When I got up close I could see through window right under the eaves and inside was a more or less unfinished bent log forming the main structure of the building. This is either a very old building that has had the outside replaced with modern materials or parts from an older building were used as construction materials.
This is a typical tree along the sidewalk. There is a little open dirt around the trunk that has filled with flowers, or in some cases weeds There are also many new small trees starting to spring up. Once or twice a year a work crew will come and trim all this away, cutting any new trees to ground level and pulling out all the weeds.
This is the cherry trees in Shogen. Even at this time of year, they are quite pleasant.
Reaching Izumi Chuo, after a long cut, I found that there was some sort of little festival going on. People were selling things and there were some activities for kids.
